Reedbuck Borehole being refurbished by replacing solar panels to power pump for water
ELECTRIC FENCE UPGRADING

August 7, 2006 - Lake Nakuru National Park

Kenya's first Rhino Sanctuary, Lake Nakuru National Park, is now 20 years old and the perimeter electric fence will need to be upgraded to modern standards to protect the Park and it's precious resources from increasing community based pressures.

This project will be done in phases, and will be completed depending on the amount of funds which are received. PLEASE HELP REBUILD THIS FENCE

BLACK RHINOS TRANSLOCATED

July 29, 2004 - Lake Nakuru National Park

As a result of the successful operation of Rhino Rescue
in Lake Nakuru National Park, the Black Rhino population was given a chance to flourish.

Kenya Wildlife Service moved 10 Black Rhinos to an area around Rumuruti over a period of 10 days. The Rhino Team using aircraft darted the animals and carefully placed transmitters in their horns to monitor their movements once they are placed in their new territory.


REEDBUCK WELL IS PROVIDING WATER TO ANIMALS

March 6, 2004 - Lake Nakuru National Park

After weeks of preparation and intallation, the Reedbuck, or Windmill, well is once more pumping water into a sculptured waterhole along the western ridgeline adjacent to Reedbuck campsite. With funding by Rhino Rescue Trust, JB Drilling completed this project.

Cost: Kshs 190,250.00 (£ 1,321.21) ($2,406.90)
